A guided practice space for students

Headline Clinic

Use this space to reflect on a headline you have written. Headline Clinic is designed to coach you through the qualities of an effective headline; it does not write the headline for you.

Bring your headline to the clinic

Add enough context to help you assess whether your proposed headline is accurate, clear and appropriate for the story.

Before you submit

Headline Clinic provides AI-assisted editorial coaching. It helps you assess a headline you have written; it does not write one for you.

  • Protect your sources. Submit only material you have the right or permission to use. Do not include confidential, embargoed, source-identifying, legally sensitive or otherwise restricted material; use a generalised summary instead.
  • Your story summary and headline are sent to an external AI provider only to produce the assessment you request. ClearCopy Clinic does not intentionally store this content in an application database for this pilot. External service providers may temporarily retain data under their own service and security policies.
  • If feedback says Human review required, ask an editor, lecturer, supervisor or other appropriate person to check the issue before publication.
